Hello fellow patients and welcome to another one of my reviews. Now the first one I said it was the worst one but don't worry. This is a good a movie according to the critics. And hey, if it stars Morgan Freeman you know this will be solid. Warning it does contains spoilers to one of the biggest twists in movie history so read it if you want to lose that excitement.
Today I will be reviewing Se7en starring Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt.
This is the original SAW as SAW is based off this movie about the 7 deadly sins.
1.Gluttony
2.Lust
3.Greed
4.Sloth
5.Envy
6.Wrath
7.Pride
I pick this movie to watch because I am religious and would like to see how they represent the 7 deadly sins in Murders.
Well where can I start? It is about the old typically odd partners to partner up. One old and wise but about to retire cop Detective Lieutenant Williams Somerset (Morgan Freeman's Character) with a young, out of control, immature, rookie cop Detective David Mills (Brad Pitt's Character). Well The movie starts out pretty good with Morgan Freeman in his apartment to Morgan Freeman finding a obese man face-down in his plate of spaghetti bound hands and legs with a bucket underneath the table. Brad Pitt shows up cocky as he tries to act experience but he was not ready for a case like this. At the start they didn't think it was a proper homicide and just ruled it off as just another crime. But after they find a second death different to the first one but with the words printed on the ground with clear blood saying Greed. They knew this got to be something more. So they went back to the 1st crime and discover the words Gluttony behind the fridge. Pretty good but I wish they actually show the murders taking place and not we witness just their dead bodies. Over the course of the move drama plays out back at home when Brad Pit's wife is pregnant but only told Morgan Freeman because she don't know if she should tell Brad Pit because she might not keep the baby. Sounds interesting right but it gets better.
They use High Class FBI systems to track down a book burrowed by a man about the 7 deadly sins. In which turns out to become a shoot out with the killer manage to break Brad Pit in which he wears a cast on his arm for the rest of the movie. Lust appears where the killer force someone who have sex with a disease carrying prostitute with a knife around his genitals. Sloth also happens when a child rapist is tied to a bed for a full year in which shock Morgan and Brad as the killer plans this out for a year. Pride was an interesting one as the Killer disfigure a model's face and glued a phone in one hand and sleeping pills in the other hand. Giving her the choice of either calling up the ambulance to be saved but talking to them with that face or kill herself. And I pity today's world but she chose to kill herself. How sad.
As one morning with the 2 main cops walking into the station with a guy behind him hands up with band-aids around his fingers and blood on his shirt. He shouts out the two cops and he turn himself in. This killer was good as he always get rids of his finger prints for every kill but cutting the skin off. He made a deal for them that he will make a full confession if they take him also to the location of the 3rd party. As that was not just his blood on his shirt. They do and this is where the twist happen. In the car the killer explains that he only did it because of how sinful these people were. An Obese man who can't even walk somehow still lives and a greedy lawyer who makes lots of money by getting killers, rapists and other sinful human beings set free from the law.
They took him out to a desert like feature with power lines and choppers are up in the sky scooping out for any tricks or traps. Brad is confuse and the Killer starts to talk saying he envy his life. He envy how normal his life is and wish to have it. Brad ignores him until he says his wife's name. Morgan appears telling him to put down the gun and Brad is going on with what's in the box? The Killer than finally said she beg for her life with Morgan telling him to shut up with him also saying and I quote. "She beg for her life and the life of her unborn baby" in which Morgan back hands him shutting him up. Brad was confuse like really confuse because he didn't understand what he means. "Oh, he didn't know" after that Brad waited a few seconds before putting bullets in him.
I like this movie especially one scene they were talking about how they never actually pulled out their guns ever on the job and at the end it was Brad who puts bullets into someone's heart.
This movie is good if you like a good story and less gory scenes of which you will see in SAW. I suggest you checking it out. I rate this 8/10. It was good but I would of like to see the traps taking place.
