I don't know what is residing at my job site. However, it seems to know me.
Years ago, shortly after I started working there, I had a supervisor who was quite pregnant. She was a nervous sort and didn't like being there by herself after closing hours. Therefore when I was on with her at close, I would stay with her until she was done. One night she was finishing her paperwork, and I was standing a few feet outside the office. Suddenly, we very clearly heard someone shout my name. She came out of the office and we looked at each other in confusion. I had already done a walkaround to make sure nobody was left in the building after we closed, and with the fans going it was unlikely we would have so clearly heard someone yelling from outside. We checked the building again, and looked out all the windows. We found no one. After talking it over for a few moments and skirting over the issue of what we both thought it was, she asked me if I would prefer getting a ride home.
"Well, I live alone, so if something wants to get me, it has all night to do it."
There have been several other unusual occurrences over the years. Some I was there for, some happened to other workers. One supervisor told me that she was alone one night when she heard a loud noise near the lobby. When she went there, there was no obvious cause for the sound, but a lot of plaster had fallen from the ceiling to the floor. Another worker told me that she and several others were near the staff bathroom when they heard the locked security door slamming shut, even though they had left it closed and it can't be opened from the outside even if it was unlocked.
As for some other things that happened to me, one night I was taking some garbage to the dumpster in the back of the lot. It had rained heavily earlier in the night. When I came back to the security entrance, I saw on the pavement that the rain had made a pattern that very much looked like a skull. On another occasion I was passing by a public washroom when one of the blowdryers turned on. The bathroom door was open, so I could see there was nobody in there. By that time, I found these incidents more annoying than creepy, so I made a rude comment, and then said something like;
"I'm not impressed. Turn it off."
What happened next did sort of spook me, though. The dryer turned off.
There is a restaurant about a minute walk away. I haven't heard any specifics, but I've found out that some things have happened there that makes their staff think it is haunted too. So maybe there is something about the general area.
Regardless, I'm unaware of anything happening in the past few years. Most of the current staff don't know of the place's unusual history. Perhaps whatever was there got bored and moved on.
