While this isn't really a story in any way, It's a very interesting mystery that persists to this day. Edgar Allan Poe Is considered by many to one of the all time greatest Horror writers. He died mysteriously in 1849. He was found wandering the streets of Baltimore delirious, "in great distress, and... in need of immediate assistance" according to the man who found him. No one knows how he got there, why he was wearing someone else's clothes, or what caused his condition. While this is mysterious enough, in the 1930s, according to some sources, and mysterious man began visiting Poe's grave each year, in the early hours of January 19th. He wore a large coat, face obscured by a scarf or hood, carrying a silver-tipped cane. He would visit Poe's grave, with a bottle of French Cognac, raise a toast to Poe himself, and leave 3 roses in a distinctive manner on the tomb. This tradition carried on from the 30s until 2009. Since then, there has been no visit from the toaster. It's believed that during the late 90s, the original toaster died, and the tradition was carried on by his son, who didn't take the tradition as seriously, leading to Its end in '09. The identities, and reasons for this toast to this day, remain a complete mystery. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poe_Toaster
